Seargeant Brothers Printers is a thriving design and print business based in Pontypool, South East Wales.

The Requirement

To investigate the levels of noise in the printing factory due to printing and finishing equipment, with on-going monitoring upon changes in layout and machinery.

The Solution

Seargeant Brothers and WCPC worked together in the framework of the ERDF funded project DIPLE.

The project was run over a period of time as printing machinery was replaced and factory layout was changed. Noise levels were measured throughout the factory, under a range of different conditions.

Recommendations were made on hearing protection requirements.

Benefits of this approach

The company were better able to protect their workforce from excessive noise and conform to noise legislation. The company was better informed about the levels of noise from items of equipment and how to select appropriate hearing protection for a range of scenarios.
