Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Swansea University in July 2022 with First Class honours. Her final year research project was titled ‘Application of Water-based Pectin Films in the Food Packaging Industry.’ During this time, Laura worked with the WCPC (Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating) team based at the university where she discovered a passion for research. Due to this interest and hard work, she was offered to participate in a summer employment opportunity at the WCPC.

More recently, Laura was successful in her application to join COATED M2A to complete a MSc by Research at Swansea University working with the WCPC starting October 2022. This project is titled ‘Benefits of Flexo Plate Micro Patterning’ and aims to gain a scientific understanding of the inking mechanism between the anilox, plate and substrate. Laura is looking forward to working with the WCPC over the next year to complete this research.
